A powerful campaign in support of public education has reached well over 1.6 million people since its launch in fall 2023. Our Kids, Our Communities, Our Future tells true stories from Cooperating School Districts Greater Kansas City member districts via a campaign webpage, newsletter, social media posts and advertising.
CSDGKC expands its reach, adding another new member this year
CSDGKC represents urban, suburban and rural school districts with student populations ranging from around 250 to more than 20,000.
Celebrating CSDGKC’s 11-year streak of clean annual audits
Cooperating School Districts of Greater Kansas City recently earned its 11th consecutive positive audit from Marr and Company, P.C., of Kansas City.
The power of partnerships: Helping keep CSDGKC districts’ membership dues the same since 2007
“We are grateful for our partners and their support for public education,” said Dr. Kenny Southwick, CSDGKC executive director. “Thanks to their financial support, we’ve been able to keep our membership dues at just $2 per student since 2007.”
Arming education leaders to act as effective advocates for public schools
CSDGKC’s Education Policy Leadership Program (EPLP) and Advanced Education Policy Leadership Program (AEPLP) provide school leaders with the knowledge and tools necessary to help influence elected officials.

From professional development to graduate hours, CSDGKC offers free training and opportunities to member districts
Cooperating School Districts of Greater Kansas City recently wrapped up an impactful year of professional development with more meaningful sessions planned for 2026-27.
Close to 50 advocate for our schools during Jefferson City trip
Communicating with our state elected officials and advocating for public schools are top priorities for Cooperating School Districts. As part of this effort, our organization was well represented during CSDGKC’s second annual Legislative Day at the Capitol, held on February 25.
CSD Retirement Trust offers strong performance, low fees, value-added services
The CSD Retirement Trust continues its steadfast commitment to improving retirement planning and outcomes while reducing employees’ costs. Membership stands at 68 participating school districts in 2025.
MOCAAT Update
With the support of Cooperating School Districts of Greater Kansas City and three other sponsoring associations, MOCAAT launched on September 24, 2020, and a Board of Directors was formed to oversee the operations and performance of the Program. M
